Global Craze offers licensees and retailers a hot new licensing opportunity

Brand Central, the global licensing agency for the brand Silly Bandz, owned by BCP Imports, has appointed AT Merchandise as its sub-agent for the European Union.

Silly Bandz is the market-leading brand of silicon rubber bands that come in dozens of shapes, colors, and themes. On a wrist or ankle, they function like a regular bracelet, and when taken off they revert to their original shape. They are often worn many at a time and are traded like collectables. They can also be used for their original intent—as a regular rubber band or hair tie.

The UK’s Sun newspaper reported “The colourful bits of silicon are already being worn by fashionistas including Sarah Jessica Parker and Agyness Deyn. And a Facebook page devoted to them has nearly 300,000 followers. As the simple accessory takes the world by storm, inventor Robert Croak has seen his company’s annual sales rocket from a few thousand pounds to a valuation of $65 million.”

The licensing programme is already underway in the USA and includes t-shirts, a videogame, a board game, greetings and stationery.  The style guide enables licensees to recreate the vibrant colours and shapes of Silly Bandz as distinctive and instantly recognisable graphic designs.

AT Merchandise is a division of AT New Media and will be available on stand C076b at Brand Licensing Europe between September 28 & 30, to meet licensees and retailers to present the Silly Bandz licensing opportunity.

Please note, due to the late news on this exciting acquisition, additional information can only presently be obtained by contacting Paul Comben and Simon Kay of AT New Media
